Pop Up Shop

My friend Ali and I are taking a pop up shop in Selkirk a week on Friday - 6 December. So we are busy making some lovely things to sell. We are going to look at some furniture tomorrow at Rob Armstrong's which he is kindly going to lend us to display in the shop. Loving every minute !!

Winter Scene

Took my little terriers for a walk this afternoon. Nature never ceases to amaze me in all its forms.

Vintage French Cotton

This week I discovered some beautiful antique fabrics and I can't wait to make something special with them. So I think I will use some vintage French linen and some old lace with this old paisley pattern lawn - it's soooo lovely I don't know if I will be able to part with it !!

Lavendar Hearts

More of today's offerings - a dish of ten sweet lavendar scented hearts. My kitchen smells lovely!

Christmas makes

Have been busy today making for our pop up shop on Friday 6 December in Selkirk. Am going to be very busy over the next two weeks.  Here are today's offerings.

Inspiring

What can I say about the knitting and stitching show in Harrogate ?!! I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it!  There was such beautiful work in the exhibition hall and so much choice of fabrics wool ribbon and all the things I love to buy!! I had to restrain myself from going overboard (especially as I am going to the country living fair in Glasgow on Sunday) but I think I managed to acquire some useful goodies. So many inspiring ideas - but I did write then down and have a bundle of cards and leaflets to research on the Internet at home. We had really good fun and lots of laughs.

Little red tartan number

Love this one - soft cotton tartan appliqué hearts on white damask linen finished with neat piped edge. Mother if pearl heart buttons give a special finishing touch.

My label

Thank you Lou Lou for designing my new label - now to get some printed!!

Two more little zip bags

Here are two more fun little bags made today from vintage linens and trimmed with cotton lace and cute little wooden buttons.

Little bags

Just more playing!! Love trying out different fabric combinations. Thank you Lou Lou for the zips - they were a good buy!!

Just playing!!

My friend Helen is so very artistic and makes beautiful felt Itzas. During the summer she turned her hand to printing and has
kindly given me some samples to 'play' with. We have lots of design ideas and so watch this space!

Vintage cotton

I bought this delicate old cotton years ago in a charity shop and am now using it in some new cushion designs. This one has 9 hearts sewn onto lovely cotton/linen and hand quilted. Will be sad   when it us all used up and hope I will be able to find something similar.

Cushions galore

Cushions ready for sale. Beautiful antique French linen, cotton and lace, hand embroidered on linen and some vintage chintz. Oh, and a few new cotton ones too.
